ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Passport: Required, except for holders
of documents issued to stateless persons.
2. Visa: Required, except for:
1. nationals of Mongolia
2. nationals for Kazakstan for a stay of max. 90 days provided coming for
business purposes;
3. nationals of Cuba, Korea (Dem. People's Rep.) , Laos and Vietnam, irrespective
of purpose of
visit or duration of stay;
4. the following nationals holding diplomatic or official pasports:
a) for a stay of max. 3 months: Bulgaria, Czech Rep., Hungary, Slovak
Rep., Turkey;
b) for a stay of max. 1 month: Korea Rep., Thailand;
5. the following nationals for a stay of max. 14 days:
a) Poland and Romania. If coming for business purposes, passenger should
hold invitation letter;
b) Malaysia. If coming for business purposes visa not required for
max. 1 month;
c) Philippines. However, if coming for business purposes visa not
required for max.21 days;
d) Singapore, provided coming for business purposes;
6. nationals of China (People's Rep.) holding normal passports endorsed

MEDICAL FACILITIES:
Travelers are advised to carry travel insurance
which includes an emergency evacuation clause in case of very
serious illness or injury. Travelers should
bring their own medical supplies for any personal needs, as well as
basic medical kit. Although no vaccinations
are required travelers are recommended to be protected against
Hepatitis (both A and B) and Meningitis A
& C. This is particularly important if travelling with children.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS:
Most hotels and houses have international
direct dialing as well as telex and fax facilities.
MONGOLIAN LANGUAGE:
Over 90% Khalkha Mongol ('Mongolian Language').
The script is Cyrillic due to
Russian influence but a switch back to traditional
script has begun in schools.
Minor languages include Khazkh.
SECOND LANGUAGE:
Russian is spoken by many graduates, with
Mongolians educated in Russia.
English is replacing Russia as the second
language. German is spoken by many
graduates, and a little Spanish is spoken.
Chinese not widely understood except
in border areas.
